EXPECTATIONS
Homework Policy
As a 6th Grade Team we have a general homework policy that increases in expectations over the course of the year. With each progressing quarter we allow fewer days for make ups, and begin assigning zeros. There are slight variations for each teacher that will be covered the first week of school.
Band, Chorus, and Ochestra
Any student who participates in Band, Chorus, or Ochestra will miss class due to lessons. However it is the responsibility of the student to check in with their classroom teacher for work, and assigned homework assignments that they may have missed during their lessons.
Backpacks and Bags
This year backpacks will be encouraged for students to carry their materials for the day. This will decrease the congestion of the hallway, while also providing students better time management by not having them go to their locker between every class period. However, it is not required that they carry their backpacks.
Time Management
It's very important students use their time between classes to take get to their classes as soon as possible. We're hoping to keep the number of students in the halls to a minimum, and completely understand the growing pains that will be present at the beginning of the school year.
Planners
Students are given planners at the beginning of the year in order to keep track of homework assignments. These planners are also used as a hall pass for any reason a student may need to leave the room. Without the planner, a student may be kept from going to the library or going to another homebase.
Electronics
Students are not to have cell phones or other electronic devices with them at any time. There are very few exceptions, and those are approved by the main office. Students are directed to have them off and out of sight. If caught multiple times, the device will be given to the office.
